No. 77
Maryland
"Little Mo came to the Giants because when the players filed their report on opponents after the '55 season, he was universally respected as the toughest lineman they'd encountered. A trade was promptly made with the Steelers.
The confidence in Mo has been borne out by his valuable work on the most outstanding defensive unit in the NFL. He has great strength and is the most consistent man on the forward wall."

"Since 1956, the pile-driving thrusts of opposing lines by Dick Modzelewski (77) have been distinguishing features of the destructive Giant defense. Little Mo, all 260 pounds of him, plays football with a controlled fury that is almost terrifying.
After starring at Maryland, he was drafted No. 2 by Washington in 1953, moved to Pittsburgh in 1955 and thence to the Giants. This is his ninth NFL season."
