1960 Profile: Kyle Rote

End
No. 44
SMU
A bonus draft choice for the Giants in 1951, the only time the Giants have had the first overall pick, Kyle was converted from halfback to end as a rookie due to a training camp injury. He's an outstanding pass receiver and is the Giants' all-time leader in pass receptions.
Kyle is the team champion in golf, billiards and ping-pong and is a fine bridge player. This four-time Pro Bowl selection is also an accomplished after-dinner speaker and owns an interest in several off-season businesses in Texas.

"In his tenth year as a Giant, Kyle Rote (44) is having his greatest season. Always noted for his quality catches as a pass-receiver, he's grabbing them in quantity, thanks to the soundest underpinning he's had in several Falls. Offensive captain of the Giants, the Mighty Mustang was an All-America triple-threat left halfback at S.M.U."
