1960 Profile: Dick Modzelewski

Defensive Tackle
No. 77
Maryland
"He's another of the stalwart defenders on the furious four-man front wall. Dick is a solid tackle who is among the most durable in the league.
Originally drafted by the Redskins in 1953 and traded to the Steelers in '55, Dick was acquired by the Giants in '56 and was brilliant in leading the club to the title that season. He was two years a unanimous All-American and voted the country's outstanding college lineman in '52.
'Little Mo' is the brother of Dallas' Ed, known as 'Big Mo.'"

-1960 Pro Football Handbook

"Dick Modzelewski (77) has been an irresistible force and immovable object at defensive left tackle since 1956. Before that, the former Maryland All-America put in two seasons with the Redskins and one with Steelers. Little Mo has 250 muscular pounds on his round, firm and fully-packed frame and knows how to use them."
