1964 Profile: Ken Kavanaugh

"Kavanaugh is recognized as one of the finest ends of all time in both the collegiate and professional ranks. An All-America at LSU in 1939, Ken joined the Chicago Bears in 1940, along with fellow rookie Ed Kolman, also a long-time Giant aide. After performing with the Bears in 1941, Kavanaugh entered the Army Air Force, returning to the Chicagoans in 1945. He remained with the Bears through 1950, setting many pass receiving marks that still stand.
After serving as an assistant at Villanova in 1954, Ken joined the New Yorkers' staff in 1955. Kavanaugh, who was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on November 23, 1916, lives in Philadelphia."
