1963 Profile: Phil King

Halfback
No. 24
Vanderbilt
"Football means so much to Phil King that he actually gets too wrought emotionally before a game. The Chief (he's part Indian) is playing his sixth year with the Giants but only his second as a heavy-duty fullback. His 1962 campaign featured 460 yards rushing, 186 on passes and perfect blocking.
Phil makes his home in Nashville. He was the Giants' No. 1 draft choice in 1958 after a glowing career at Vanderbilt."

-Don Schiffer, Pro Football 1963
