1963 Profile: Darrell Dess

Guard
No. 62
North Carolina State
"The Giants' pet name for Darrell Dess is 'Mr. Clean.' That's his job as offensive guard - to lead the interference and clean out would-be tacklers. Agile, confident and strong enough to block straight ahead with power, he had a great 1962 season.
Darrell was raised and lives in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was a football star and wrestler at North Carolina State, and a Redskin and Steeler of no great distinction before finding himself with the Giants."

-Don Schiffer, Pro Football 1963

"Darrell was with the Redskins and the Steelers before joining the Giants in 1959. A fine offensive guard, Darrell won three varsity letters at North Carolina State."

-1963 Topps No. 54
