JIM FILES
Linebacker
No. 58
Oklahoma
Jim has settled in as an outside linebacker after being tried in the middle in his rookie season. The speed, range and overall pass defense ability of the Giants' No. 1 pick of 1970 will be better utilized.
Oklahoma's co-captain as a senior, Jim was second-team All-Big Eight and was considered the Sooners' best pass rusher.

PAT HUGHES
Linebacker
No. 56
Boston University
After backing up Greg Larson as a rookie, Pat was moved to defense last year and became a regular outside linebacker. Having established himself with several fine performances late in the season, the Giants know he can still fill in at center when necessary.
Pat played both center and linebacker at Boston University, distinguishing himself on defense. A co-captain who was the team's MVP on defense in 1969, this 60-minute man earned All-East and All-New England honors.
